About this tool
IP geolocation maps an address to the place where its network block is registered and announced. Because allocations are made to ISPs and hosting companies rather than to individuals, the result describes the network's location: reliable at country level, approximate at city level. This page shows the full picture: continent, country with flag, region, city, latitude and longitude on an interactive map, reverse DNS, ISP, autonomous system and route.
The anonymity section is what makes the lookup useful for fraud and abuse work: knowing that an address is a commercial VPN exit, an open proxy, a Tor relay or a cloud server usually matters more than the city it resolves to. For a reputation verdict open the IP Blacklist Check; for just the country use IP to Country.

Frequently asked questions
How accurate is IP geolocation?
Country is right in the vast majority of cases; region and city are estimates based on where the operator registered the block and typically land within tens of kilometres. It never identifies a street address or a person.
Why does my own IP show a different city?
ISPs and mobile carriers route customers through regional gateways, so your country may differ. If you use a VPN, the location shown is the VPN exit point, not your actual location.
Can I geolocate an IPv6 address?
Yes, IPv6 is fully supported. Paste the address with or without square brackets, and the tool will automatically validate the format and retrieve available geolocation information.
