About this tool
Explaining a bug, pointing out a detail in a screenshot or marking a photo for a client is much faster with an arrow and a short note. Add Arrow to Image is a small annotation editor in your browser: straight or freehand arrows with a filled head and optional outline, text notes in any colour and size, select-and-move, undo, redo and clear, keyboard shortcuts, and a PNG export at the original resolution. Paste a screenshot straight from the clipboard to start.
How it works: with the Arrow tool, drag from the tail to the tip (hold Shift to snap to 45°); with the Text tool, click where the note should start, type and press Enter; with Select, click an item to move it, double-click a note to edit it and press Delete to remove it.
Hide sensitive parts first with Blur Image.

Frequently asked questions
Can I edit an arrow after drawing it?
Switch to Select, click the arrow to select it, then drag it to move it or change the colour, stroke and outline from the toolbar; press Delete to remove it.
What is Freehand?
With Freehand ticked, the arrow follows your hand instead of being a straight line; the head is placed at the end of the stroke.

PNG at the original resolution of the image, with the annotations baked in.
How do I work on a tall screenshot?

Are there keyboard shortcuts?
V select, A arrow, T text, Ctrl+Z undo, Ctrl+Y or Ctrl+Shift+Z redo, Ctrl+S download, Delete removes the selected item, Escape cancels.
Are my files or data uploaded?
No. The tool is plain JavaScript that runs in your browser; the files or data you provide here are never uploaded to our servers.
