About this tool
Proxy & VPN Detection answers one question about an IP address: is the real origin hidden? It queries the anonymity signals of the APIVoid IP Reputation API and reports whether the address is a proxy, web proxy, residential proxy, VPN exit, Tor exit node, privacy relay or a hosting / data-centre address, together with the network type and ISP. No geolocation or blacklist data is shown here, so the verdict is easy to read at a glance.
For the full security report of an IP address, including blacklists and location, run the IP Blacklist Check; for residential proxies see Residential Proxy Detection.

Frequently asked questions
How are proxies and VPNs detected?
From published Tor exit lists, known VPN provider ranges, open-proxy crawls, hosting allocations and behavioural data; the flags reflect what the address is associated with today.
Should I block every VPN user?
Usually not: VPNs are widely used for privacy. Many services only add friction (captcha, e-mail confirmation) or restrict payments; blocking is more common for Tor and open proxies.
What does "relay" mean?
Privacy relays such as iCloud Private Relay route traffic through Apple or partner networks; the user is a regular consumer, not an attacker.
Is residential proxy detection included?
Yes, the flag is shown here too; the dedicated Residential Proxy Detection page explains how to treat those addresses.
