About this tool

The User-Agent is a short self-description sent with every HTTP request: which browser you use, which version, on which operating system and, often, which rendering engine. Websites rely on it to serve the right layout, work around bugs and count visitors, and support teams ask for it to reproduce problems. This page shows yours exactly as our server received it and extracts the browser, OS, device type and engine from it.

See everything else your browser request reveals on the other tool named My IP Address, which includes also all the request headers sent by your browser and your public IP address.

How to use it — quick steps

  1. 01

    Open the page

Your browser sends its User-Agent header with the request; nothing to type and no button to press.

  2. 02

    Read the string

The raw header is shown first with a copy action; the parsed fields follow in the table underneath.

  3. 03

    Use it where needed

Paste the string into support tickets, analytics filters or compatibility tests that ask for it.

Key features of this tool

The raw User-Agent header as received by our server, ready to copy into a bug report or a support ticket.

  • Parsed for you

Browser and version, operating system, device type and rendering engine extracted from the string.

  • Test UA changes

Check whether your browser extension or custom settings have successfully changed your User-Agent string.

Frequently asked questions

What is a User-Agent?

A header every browser sends to identify itself: product tokens for the browser, the rendering engine and the operating system. Websites use it for compatibility decisions and statistics.

Why does my User-Agent mention Mozilla, Safari and Chrome at once?

Historical compatibility: browsers kept the tokens of their ancestors so that old sites would not block them, which is why a Chrome string also says Mozilla, AppleWebKit, KHTML and Safari.

Why is the Windows version shown as 10 / 11?

Windows 11 reports "Windows NT 10.0" in the User-Agent for compatibility, so the two cannot be told apart from this header.

Can I change my User-Agent string?

Yes, most browsers offer a user-agent switch in the developer tools or through extensions; some privacy browsers may alter the string.
