About this tool
Showing a bug, recording a quick walkthrough or capturing a video call should not require installing software. The Screen Recorder uses the browser's Screen Capture API (getDisplayMedia) and MediaRecorder to record the screen, a window or a tab, with system audio where the browser allows it and optional microphone narration mixed in, at 15 to 60 fps. When you stop, the video is ready to play and download, and it never leaves your device.
Audio only? Use the Voice Recorder.

- 01
Choose what to capture
Press "Start recording" and pick the whole screen, one window or a browser tab in the browser dialog.
- 02
Record
The red dot and timer show that it is recording; tick the microphone option first if you want to narrate.
- 03
Stop and download
Press "Stop recording" (or the browser's stop-sharing bar); the video appears below with a player.
Key features of this tool
Screen, window or tab
Uses the browser's own Screen Capture API, so you choose exactly what is recorded; nothing else is visible.
System audio and narration
Tab or system audio where the browser supports it, plus your microphone, mixed into one track.
Stays on your device
The video is assembled in memory by MediaRecorder and downloaded from there; nothing is uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
Which browsers support it?
Desktop Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari; mobile browsers do not allow screen capture. HTTPS is required.
Why is there no system audio?
Audio capture depends on the browser and what you share: Chrome and Edge capture tab audio, and whole-screen audio on Windows; Firefox and Safari capture video only. Microphone narration works everywhere.
Which format is the video?
WebM (VP9 or VP8 with Opus) in Chrome, Edge and Firefox, MP4 in Safari. Both play in modern players; convert with any video tool if you need another format.
Is there a time limit?
No fixed limit; the recording is kept in memory, so very long sessions depend on the free memory of your device.
